‘‘Hôtel Germain – Ganvié Holiday Resort'' is different from the other structures accommodating tourists in Ganvié. The promoter drew inspiration from the local and foreign lake architecture techniques (notably the ones of Venice of Italy and some lake villages of Asia notably Vietnam and Thailand ). He also enjoyed the assistance of Belgian, Dutch and Portuguese engineers in the design and building of the hotel.

The buildings of the hotel, except the ones housing the generating sets, are on concrete stilts but the walls are in iron woods out of a concern to ensure the nature and landscape of Ganvie are not changed. For the already completed buildings, the concrete stilts are not visible and the walls of the restaurant are unquestionably one of the attractions of the village, they are in bamboos processed by the specialists of bamboo works.

Presently the hotel has a capacity of 12 rooms. This capacity will be raised very soon to 16, 20 and ultimately about 40 rooms. The restaurant is big and can accommodate a minimum of hundred (100) Guests. The kitchen of the hotel is also built on concrete stilts and its walls are in bricks. A long flowered footbridge starts from the landing stage and goes down to the rooms and the restaurants The hotel has two artificial beaches at the entrance. A big conference hall that can accommodate up to 250 persons is being built. Apart from this conference hall, provisions have been made for the construction of a floating restaurant, a basketball pitch and a swimming pool.
